NorthDesk Remote Assist Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing NorthDesk for your tech support needs. Our Remote Assist program provides efficient assistance by allowing our tech support representatives to troubleshoot your computer remotely. Below are the terms and conditions for using our Remote Assist service:
- Access and Control: By utilizing Remote Assist, you authorize our support representatives to access and control your system. You'll have the ability to monitor all actions taken during the session.
- User Control: You retain full control of your system. At any time, you can override any action by moving your mouse, and you can terminate the session by selecting "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the session window.
- Data Collection: Our tech support representatives may access, collect, and use certain information during the session for limited purposes. For more details, please refer to the "Collection and Use of Data" section below.
- Software Usage: By downloading the Remote Assist software, you agree to our Software License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Usage of the Remote Assist program is also subject to the terms of your Service Agreement and Terms and Conditions of Sale.
- Monitoring and Recording: Remote Assist sessions may be monitored or recorded for quality control purposes.
- Security and Compliance: Any potentially illegal, suspicious, or dangerous activity discovered during the session may be reported to appropriate agencies, including law enforcement.
- Session Closure: Upon completion of the service session, the Remote Assist application will automatically uninstall to ensure the protection of your data.
- Official Site: Please note that NorthDesk's official Support Choice site is the only authorized platform for remote session access. If you encounter any issues with the session ID provided, contact NorthDesk for further assistance.
- Functions Performed: During the session, our representative may troubleshoot and make necessary fixes to your system. This may include modifying system settings, viewing/editing files and registry, and configuring system preferences. You'll be prompted to accept or deny each action, and you'll have visibility into all functions performed.
